Val McDermid

Val McDermid was raised in a tight-knit Scottish mining town before pursuing her studies in English at the prestigious Oxford University. After graduating, she embarked on a successful sixteen-year career in journalism, culminating in her role as the Northern Bureau Chief of a prominent national Sunday tabloid.

Today, Val McDermid dedicates her time to writing full-time and calls South Manchester her home.
