Nick Hornby

Nick Hornby, born in 1957, is the son of the successful businessman Sir Derek Hornby. He attended Maidenhead Grammar School before pursuing a degree in English at Cambridge University. Following his studies, he taught in Cambridge and later took on a role as a meeter and greeter for Samsung executives in the UK. Transitioning from teaching to freelance journalism, Hornby eventually found his calling as a novelist. His breakthrough came with the widely acclaimed novel Fever Pitch in 1992, propelling his career to greater heights. His novel How to be Good even made it to the long-list of the prestigious Booker Prize in 2001.
