Deborah Crombie

Deborah Crombie, a native of Texas who received her education there, has lived in both England and Scotland before penning her debut novel featuring Detective Superintendent Duncan Kincaid and Sergeant Gemma James. Published in 1993 by Scribner, "A Share in Death" received nominations for the Agatha and Macavity awards for Best First Novel. Her fifth book, "Dreaming of the Bones," published in 1997, was nominated for an Edgar award by the Mystery Writers of America for Best Novel. It was also named a New York Times Book of the Year and selected by the Independent Mystery Booksellers of America as one of the top 100 Crime Novels of the Century.
